Presbyterian Women in the Congregation
(PWC)

Our Purpose

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, we commit ourselves:
To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
To support the mission of the church worldwide,
To work for justice and peace,
To build an inclusive, caring community of women that
strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and
witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom

and
We further seek to involve all women of Webster Presbyterian Church in carrying out the mission of Presbyterian Women through education, interpretation and personal involvement.

Gatherings

At Webster Presbyterian Church, Gatherings for PWC are held in January, March, September and November. These Gatherings give opportunities for spiritual growth, service, stewardship and fellowship. Gatherings are held at the church and include fellowship suppers, a salad luncheon and evening meetings.

Service

Support of our church family and friends is a high priority. At times of need, such as sickness, death, weddings and anniversaries, women are ready to share through preparing emergency meals, hosting and baking for a reception or preparing meals for service groups (Scouts, etc.). We host friends from the Presbyterian Home and Hill Haven Nursing Home at our spring luncheon.

Circles

Approximately 125 women belong to the small group circles. These groups offer a more intimate opportunity for special speakers, study topics, service projects, mission support, response to community needs and Christian fellowship.

Stewardship

We choose to be good stewards; therefore, we choose not to “make money” but to give freely.  Our budget allows us to meet responsibilities through our denomination for mission giving as well as local expenses. Gifts of stewardship are received or pledged in March, but women are encouraged to contribute any time during the year.

Retreats

For over 25 years, our organization has held a get-away Retreat with guest speakers. This opportunity for spiritual growth and fine fellowship has been most meaningful.
