The Webster Presbyterian Men’s Fellowship (PMF) seeks to provide opportunities
for all men of the church to grow in their faith by organizing activities for
fellowship, spiritual growth, service, and support. By facilitating interaction
and building church fellowships, PMF strengthens our identification with WPC
(Webster Presbyterian Church). We do this by fellowship activities, retreats,
helping hands teams for members in need, and mission activities (local,
national, worldwide). We encourage all to witness by showing their Christian
values in their everyday lives.
Monthly Saturday morning discussion breakfasts feature great fellowship around
breakfast followed by discussion of a topic of current interest. The last
breakfast of the year in December is our annual meeting and a “thank you” to
our pastors for all of their efforts during the year.
PMF organizes at least one retreat for the men, usually conducted in the fall
at a church-related retreat center. This overnight event most often is led by a
special speaker and is a key event on our calendar. It is a time of fellowship
and learning as well as emotional and spiritual growth. Our fellowship ends
with a communion service.
The Helping Hands activity is a chance for the men to work together helping
members who have special needs. This could include small fix-up projects, yard
work, and clean-up activities. Although this service is provided throughout the
year, spring and fall workdays are planned to offer men, women, and families
the chance to become “helping hands.” In addition, PMF can be found helping at
church workdays, Habitat for Humanity projects and special projects as the need
arises.
Other outreach projects include annual preparation of food baskets at
Thanksgiving and Christmas for needy families in the community. Each year a
portion of stewardship funds collected are allocated to mission projects in
WPC, the local community, and worldwide as approved by the PMF steering
committee.
Besides our regular Saturday morning breakfasts, fellowship is encouraged by
activities such as organizing trips to sporting events, parent/child dinners,
an annual stewardship dinner, special conferences such as Man in the Mirror and
Promise Keepers events, weekday Bible studies, and the annual clambake.
All men are encouraged to participate in PMF activities. Contact the church
office for the name of the current president of the PMF steering committee and
more information.
