Evangelism Therefore go and make disciples of all nations..... Matthew 28:19 “Evangelism” includes personal faith-sharing and development, and creating a welcoming and hospitable environment for service to others. Our E team encourages all to participate in outreach ministries throughout our community. The Welcome Table continues to be a visible center of this service and is well augmented by the Visitation Teams. On a broader note, we host a booth at the annual Webster Good Neighbor Festival in August to share the Good News with the entire community. We have periodic opportunities for people to share with others in the congregation how God worked in their lives. Such sharing helps us prepare to share the loving God with others in the community. Families and small groups are encouraged to adopt specific aspects of maintaining an inviting, attractive and hospitable facility to welcome those who seek God. Our youth host Bible studies and other events to encourage fellow youth who are not affiliated with the church to explore faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Special Lenten and Advent worship series are often preceded by an informal supper and provide an extra opportunity for families to worship together in a less formal atmosphere. Several projects assist both new and old members and our visitors to become better acquainted and to feel more at home. Nametags help bridge the gaps that naturally occur in larger congregations. The Coffee Mugs not only are a welcome to our visitors, but allow our members to effectively tell others where their church home is. |
